2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
God will always keep His promises. God is never the issue. God is faithful. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NKJV) “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”
God is faithful and will do what he has promised. We must take our eyes off our circumstances and place them on God.
Hebrews 11:11 (NLT) “It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.”
God gives you a promise. With the promise comes the problem. The way you conduct yourself in the problem determines how long it takes you to reach the provision.
God gives the promise to Abraham. Genesis 15:5 (NLT) “Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”
The Problem. Abraham had only two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, and only Isaac was the son of his promise. God told Abraham to take Isaac and offer him up to God as a sacrifice. Abraham believed that, if he did, God is even able to raise the dead. Abraham obeyed and took Isaac to Mount Moriah.
Genesis 22:1-2 (NLT) “Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.” 2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
The Provision. Once we can believe God, irrespective of the problem we have encountered in the process of the fulfilment of the promise of God, we will receive the provision from God.
Genesis 22:10-15 (NLT) “And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. 11 At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!” 12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.” 13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. 14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” 15 Then the angel of the Lord called again to Abraham from heaven.
Abraham also became the father of many nations and the Father of those who believe God. Abraham never saw all of his descendants and never owned the land God promised to him. However, his offspring, Israel did receive the land.
