Rom 12:2(MSG) Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.
Readily recognize what God wants from you, and quickly respond to it.
God wants our acknowledgement. Psalm 46:10(AMPC) Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!
When we truly and accurately acknowledge God, there will be:
Confession of sin – Proverbs 28:13 (NLT) People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Salvation – Romans 10:10(NLT) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Admission of our own weakness in the flesh, our inability to help ourselves, our total dependency upon Jesus Christ – John 15:5(NLV) “I am the Vine and you are the branches. Get your life from Me. Then I will live in you and you will give much fruit. You can do nothing without Me.”
Commitment, we will commit our ways – Proverbs 3:6(ESV) In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
We will commit our life to Christ – Philippians 1:21(ESV) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
We will commit our will – Proverbs 16:3(ESV) Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.
We will humble ourselves – 1 Peter 5:6 (ESV) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
If we rely on ourselves, the world, or others to direct our path, we will find ourselves going down the wrong street every time. By submitting and obeying God, we follow Him, and He directs our steps.
Everyone and anyone can be directed by God if they pray to Him, read the Bible, submit to Him, and follow Him in obedience. Acknowledging God and recognising His presence is the first step. You have to trust in God and fully depend on Him when you want Him to direct your steps.
