11 February 2023 – The Lord will preserve you

Psalm 41:2 (NKJV) The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

Psalm 121:7 (NKJV) The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

This Psalm beautifully describes what God did for Noah and his family, and what God promises to do for all of us. God promises to protect His people from the evil that surrounds them.

How can God say all evil when we seem to suffer so much from evil? Evil can and will harm us in this life, but it can only do us limited harm. Our flesh, our relationships, our feelings are painfully vulnerable in this life, but our souls are perfectly and perpetually safe.

Numbers 6:24 (ESV) The LORD bless you and keep you;

1 Peter 1:3-5 (ESV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Psalm 121:8 (ESV) The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

The Lord himself said that there will be struggles in this world, but do not worry. John 16:33 (NIV) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Just like Noah did, we must lead a life pleasing to the Lord, and He will surely guide us. God will send His angels to guard and protect us. Even though you walk through the valley of death, no evil shall befall you because God will protect you from harm. So today decide to say: ‘Lord only You can keep us safe from all danger and harm.

Psalm 116:6 (ESV) The Lord preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me.
