12 May 2023 – Proclaim it

The past few days we focused on decide it, next we focus on decree or proclaim it. The Bible says in Job 22:28 (AMP) You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.

According to the Oxford dictionary, a decree is an official order that has the force of law. It also means edict, command, commandment, mandate, and proclamation.

A decree is an official order issued by a legal authority. According to the Bible, a decree is taking God’s words and speaking them out.

Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

When we decide and decree a thing, the light of God’s favour will shine on our path and establish it. So, God’s favour is the catalyst that initiates the establishment of the decreed word.

In the Bible, Elijah decreed a thing, and it happened. 1 Kings 17:1 (AMP) Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”

A decree unlocks kingdom resources. Ezra 5:13 (AMP) But in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, [the same] King Cyrus issued a decree to rebuild this house of God.

“Your prophetic decree unlocks the resources of the Kingdom! Your words will change atmospheres, touch hearts, break through opposition and shift situations into alignment with God’s purposes.” – Helen Calder

A decree is an expression of our kingdom’s authority. Matthew 18:18-20 (MSG) “Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”

The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 (MSG) Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

I conclude with Romans 4:17 (AMP) (as it is written [in Scripture], “I HAVE MADE YOU A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS”) in the sight of Him in whom he believed, that is, God who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.
