12 September 2023 – Release the Anointing

Jesus needed the anointing.

Luke 4:18-19(NIV) “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is the overflow of the divine life of God through you as a consecrated servant of the Lord. It is the movement of the Holy Spirit in us.

These are 5 ways to release the anointing:

  1. Receive the revelation that you have the anointing – 1 John 2:27(AMP) As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him].
Many people wait for some experience to receive it, while in actual fact they already have it. You have to believe what Jesus has said, that you have it.
Acts 10:37-38(MSG) You know the story of what happened in Judea. It began in Galilee after John preached a total life-change. Then Jesus arrived from Nazareth, anointed by God with the Holy Spirit, ready for action. He went through the country helping people and healing everyone who was beaten down by the Devil. He was able to do all this because God was with him.
  2. Insecurity cripples the anointing; identity releases it. You cannot operate in the anointing through your character. You operate in identity. I am not being used because I am perfect, but because I can identify with Christ. You are a son of God, you are empowered by God, you operate in the Spirit of the Holy Spirit. Once you know who you are the anointing will flow. Satan want us to be insecure. He will remind you of your failures, your shortcomings, and insecurities. You may not feel you are able; you may feel intimidated. You can never walk into the anointing if you are intimidated. Boldness releases the anointing in your life.
  3. If you are willing to see people, not just your problems, the anointing will flow through you. Satan is using the problem in your own life, to discourage you to flow in the anointing. You are reminded of your unfulfilled dreams or prayers. The moment you see your own problem you will fall into your own insecurity. Once you place the people in front of you above your problems the anointing will flow. Joseph in jail, did not focus on his position but on his position in God.
1 Peter 5:8-10(TLB) Be careful – watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart. Stand firm when he attacks. Trust the Lord; and remember that other Christians all around the world are going through these sufferings too. After you have suffered a little while, our God, who is full of kindness through Christ, will give you his eternal glory. He personally will come and pick you up, and set you firmly in place, and make you stronger than ever.
  4. Obedience allows the anointing to flow in your life. You don’t get the anointing to obey, you get the anointing because you obey. Once you step into the obedience, you will release the anointing of God in your life. Obedience is to hear God’s Word and act accordingly. Luke 11:28(NLT) Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” John 14:21(NLT) “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
  5. The anointing is released the moment we serve. The anointing will not only fall when you are being served, but when you serve. 1 Samuel 17:45(NIV) David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”
