13 April 2022 – May your God, whom you always worship, save you

In Daniel 6:16b we read; “May your God, whom you always worship, save you!”

In this passage Daniel refused to serve the king. He went into his house, and with the windows open, he prayed to his God. Dan 6:10b “Three times each day he got down on his knees and prayed to his God. He had always praised God this way.”

Why did Daniel have such confidence in his God while facing this life-threatening circumstance? Because he served God continually. He knew God. Daniel’s faith for deliverance was born out of his commitment to God. Because of his attitude, Daniel had favour with God.

Dan 6:19 At dawn, as soon as it was light, the king got up and quickly went to the lions’ den. Dan 6:20 As he came near the den where Daniel was, the king called to Daniel with anguish in his voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was God, whom you always worship, able to save you from the lions?” Dan 6:21 Daniel said to the king, “Your Majesty, may you live forever! Dan 6:23 My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they couldn’t hurt me.

Despite any disaster that comes against us, we can come out unscathed if, like Daniel, we trust God, believing He is willing and able to protect us.

Isaiah 41:10-13 (NIV) “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Matthew 19:26 (NASB95) “And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Mark 10:27 (NASB95) “Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”

This phrase, speaks of God’s omnipotence—his absolute power to what he pleases. It’s a theme that is echoed all throughout Scripture. When Sarah and Abraham doubted God’s promise to give them a son, God said, “Is anything too hard for the LORD?”

Genesis 18:14 (NIV) “Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

God has made provision for us to live above and beyond any adverse circumstances that my surround us.

I conclude with Mark 9:23b “Why did you say, ‘if you can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.”
