We must surrender to God
Surrender is a battle term. It implies giving up all rights to the conqueror. When an opposing army surrenders, they lay down their arms, and the winner takes control from then on. Surrendering to God works the same way. God has a plan for our lives, and surrendering to Him means we set aside our own plans and eagerly seek His. The good news is that God’s plan for us is always in our best interest. Romans 6:13(ESV) Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. God demands that we surrender the totality of ourselves; He wants the whole, not a part. Galatians 2:20(ESV) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. The beauty of total surrender to God, is that you will never be able to do it on your own, but in the power of God. Mark 10:27(NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Surrendering to God is possible in Him. Never try to surrender to God in your own strength. Philippians 4:13(AMP) I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]
