Psalm 85:4(NLT) Now restore us again, O God of our salvation.
The word revive means to make fresh and strong again; to bring back to a good condition.
True revival begins with God’s people coming under deep conviction of sin and turning from that sin in genuine repentance. Revival brings a renewed sense of God’s presence, power and holiness. Revival is about God’s name being exalted and more praise and honour given to Him on the earth. Revival is the manifestation of God’s awesome power against His enemies and against the enemies of His church. Revival power kills all forms of fear and restores man’s confidence in God and in His sovereign power to save to the uttermost.
Acts 3:19(AMPC) So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;
Who needs revival?
• Personal revival: that means individuals getting right with God.
• Home revival: that means families getting back to the place they need to be.
• Church revival: that means to be doing the work of Christ.
Who is the reviver? The Holy Spirit is the Empowering Spirit
“Without the Spirit of God, we can do nothing. We are as ships without wind. We are useless.” – Charles Spurgeon
Ephesians 3:16-19(AMPC) May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
