In the Bible we read about a lockdown in Exodus 12:6 where each household was instructed to stay in their homes from the 10th day of the month. Today is therefore quite significant. It is the FOURTEENTH day, of the month.
Exo 12:6-7(GNB) Then, on the evening of the FOURTEENTH day of the month, the whole community of Israel will kill the animals. The people are to take some of the blood and put it on the doorposts and above the doors of the houses in which the animals are to be eaten.
The 14th day of the month was the start of Passover or when Israel as a nation was started. A New Beginning.
Joshua 5:10(NET) So the children of Israel put up their tents in Gilgal; and they kept the Passover on the FOURTEENTH DAY of the month, in the evening, in the lowlands of Jericho.
Gilgal means rolling away. It indicates the rolling away of the reproach of Egypt. The mark of a new beginning and new provisions.
Act 27:33-34(GW) Just before daybreak Paul was encouraging everyone to have something to eat. “This is the FOURTEENTH DAY you have waited and have had nothing to eat. So I’m encouraging you to eat something. Eating will help you survive, since not a hair from anyone’s head will be lost.”
So, what does FOURTEEN therefore symbolises? Number 14 is a symbol of salvation, rescue, and new beginning.
Today is the 14th of April – no coincidence, on this day the message is very clear.
It will a be new beginning for everyone across the globe, we are not sure what the future holds, but we know one thing, God will take care of us. He is our salvation and will rescue us.
Isaiah 43:18-20(NLV) Do not remember the things that have happened before. Do not think about the things of the past. See, I will do a new thing. It will begin happening now. Will you not know about it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The wild animals will honor Me, the wild dogs and the ostriches. For I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.
Isaiah 12:2(NIV) See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.
