God is for His people
Once again in Psalm 14, David compares the wicked with God’s people. From the passage, God is looking for people that:
Seek Him – Psalm 14:2(NLT) The LORD looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.
Pray to Him – Psalm 14:4(NLT) Will those who do evil never learn? They eat up my people like bread and wouldn’t think of praying to the LORD.
Obey Him – Psalm 14:5(NLT) Terror will grip them, for God is with those who obey him.
In contrast the wicked people:
Don’t accept God as their Lord – Psalm 14:1(NLT) Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.”
Are corrupt – Psalm 14:1b(NLT) They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!
Turn away from God – Psalm 14:3(NLT) But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one!
Takes advantage of others – Psalm 14:6a(AMP) You [evildoers] shamefully plan against the poor,
BUT then God comes, and David says in this Psalm that God is still in control and that He will take care of His people.
Psalm 14:5a(AMP) For God is with the [consistently] righteous generation.
Psalm 14:6b(AMP) . . .But the Lord is his safe refuge.
THEN David concludes in the last verse, Psalm14:7(MSG) Is there anyone around to save Israel? Yes. God is around; GOD turns life around.
