You are a temple of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 6:19-20(NLT) Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.Don’t you realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. As a Believer in Christ, our body is considered a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. This emphasises the intimate connection between God and His people.Romans 8:9-11(NIV) You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.Ephesians 2:22(NIV) And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. This verse speaks of Believers being built together as a spiritual dwelling place for God through the Holy Spirit. You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. This signifies that Believers do not have autonomous ownership over themselves. Instead, God redeemed them through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, which was the high price paid to secure their salvation. This truth emphasises the value and significance that God places on His people.Romans 14:7-8(NIV) For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. This passage in Romans echoes the sentiment that Believers do not exist for themselves but for the Lord. Whether in life or in death, they belong to the Lord and are called to live with a mindset of honouring and serving Him.1 Peter 1:18-19(NIV) For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. So, you must honour God with your bodyRomans 12:1(NIV) says: Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.1 Corinthians 10:31(NIV) states: So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. This verse reminds Believers that every aspect of their lives, including physical actions, should be done with the aim of bringing glory to God.These references highlight the importance of living in a way that reflects God’s character, honouring Him with our bodies through moral purity, dedicating ourselves to His service, and seeking glory in His name in all aspects of life. It encompasses a holistic approach to honouring God with our physical selves, recognising the value He places on our bodies as instruments for His purposes.
