15 February 2023 – Blessings of Giving

Malachi 3:10-12 (NKJV) “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the LORD of hosts; And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the LORD of hosts.

God’s promise is that He will open the windows of heaven for you. Here God promises a revival in the life of every giver. Giving releases God’s power and abundance.

Luke 6:38 (ESV) “ . . . give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

God will pour out for you such blessing. The Lord promises prosperity to every person who sows in faith into His Kingdom.

When you pour out, you empty what you have, you leave nothing behind, nothing in reserve. You give it your all.

Remember the widow who came to Elisha with no money? He told her to go borrow vessels, not just a few, and start to pour out from her little jar of oil into the vessels she borrowed. She supernaturally filled all of them from her little jar and paid all her bills! The point is? When you pour out, you will always stay full.

Proverbs 11:25 (NKJV) The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.

‘I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes’ – the word rebuke here is the Hebrew word meaning cripple or paralyse. The Word describes God’s actions for you as crippling the devil! When you give in faith, He will stop Satan from devouring your seed and destroying lives.

That means what was going to harm your family and relationships, devour your finances and opportunities, and cause breakdowns, God will rebuke.

So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground – here God promises that the enemy will not touch the fruit of your ground, eating your finances.

Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field – this promise means that our families will never lack. Every time you sow seed into God’s Kingdom, God promises a harvest for you and your children.

All nations shall call you blessed – when you sow seed in faith, God Almighty will so bless you that you’ll become a testimony to others.

For you will be a delightful land – the word delight means highly desired. God will highly desire you, use you and anoint you for His service.

Every time you give in faith, you bring yourself and your family into a covenant of blessings with God; God is obligated to bless us. That’s why He says try me now. It’s the only place in the Bible where God asks us to test Him!
