15 July 2022 – Jesus comes to us at the right time

Matthew 14: 25(ESV) “And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea.”

God is the just in time God. In the fourth watch, in the middle of the storm, when it is the darkest, the disciples are at their weariest, the wind at its strongest, it is then, that Jesus appears. In the moment of our desperation, God appears.

It is when the situation is at its darkest, that Jesus will appear. He always comes at the right time. We are in the fourth watch of the night, everything around us is getting darker, but Jesus is coming at the right time.

Isaiah 60:22 (NLT) 22 The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.”

Psalm 31:15 “My times are in Your hands”

Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV) “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

Genesis 18:14 (ESV) “Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”

God’s perfect timing does two things: It grows our faith as we are forced to wait and trust in God and it makes certain that He, and He alone, gets the glory and praise for pulling us through. “

Psalm 27:14 (ESV) “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

Waiting is one of the most difficult things. We must wait for the Lord or wait for His timing. To move ahead of God’s divine timing is to take matters into our own hands. To lag God’s timing is to miss out on His blessings. No wonder those who walked with God knew how to wait.

James 1:4 (NKJV) “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

“God is never late and rarely early. He is always exactly right on time–His time.” ― Dillon Burroughs,
