My expectation is from God
Psalm 62:5-6 (NKJV) My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.”
Notice the focus of the psalmist’s expectation: “My expectation is from God”. He is commanding his soul (his mind, will and emotions) to focus on God. He is saying, “I am not looking for help form any other source but God.
When our expectations are in Him alone, we will not be moved or shaken. Regardless of the circumstances, God is unchangeable, and we can put our expectations fully in Him.
Proverbs 23:18 (KJV) “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.”
Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. It might look like you are failing and there is no hope, but expectation demands that you hold on to the word of God.
Ps 145:15-16 NKJV “The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.”
Expectation places you before the face of God, and He blesses expectant people, those who are looking to Him. When you pray according to God’s Word, expect a miracle.
Proverbs 24:13-14 (KJ21) “My son, eat thou honey because it is good, and the honeycomb which is sweet to thy taste. 14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul when thou hast found it; then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.”
Your expectation is the honey of life. Our expectations drive your beliefs. Where do your expectations come from? Are your expectations for the future based upon past experiences? That’s a very limited perspective. Don’t limit a limitless God.
With thousands of promises throughout Scripture, we have plenty of reasons for great expectations! Expect a miracle today.
