A Hunger for God
Isaiah 55:1-2 (NIV) “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.”
Psalm 14:2 (AMP) “The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand (act wisely), Who [truly] seek after God, [longing for His wisdom and guidance].”
God the Father is giving every single one of us an open invitation to come in and attempt to seek after Him. When we seek after God, we will find Him.
James 4:8 (AMP) “Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you.”
Amos 5:6 (AMP) “Seek the Lord [search diligently for Him and long for Him as your most essential need] so that you may live”
Jeremiah 29:13 (AMP) “Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
God is looking for intense seekers who are willing to seek after Him with all of their heart and with all of their soul. He will not settle for anything less.
Hebrews 11:6 (AMP) “But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.”
1 Chronicles 22:19 (ESV) “Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God.”
Mark 12:30 (ESV) “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
If we are hungry for God then it is not difficult for us to pray, read the Bible and worship God.
Psalm 92:12-14 (NIV) “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.”
