Is the job to be big for you?
Psalm 108:12-13(MSG) Give us help for the hard task; human help is worthless. In God we’ll do our very best; he’ll flatten the opposition for good.
How many times have we not encountered a time when we feel that the job at hand is too hard for us. It feels that we are unable and incompetent. We don’t have the skills or resources to be get the job done.
Especially, when we receive a God-given-vision, it will always be bigger than what we can accomplish on our own. I always say, if your vison can be achieved on your own, it is not a God-given vision.
With a God-given-vision we need God to help us with the hard task; human help is worthless.
In most instances we are overcome with two issues: a personal incapability for the job, and a feeling of being overwhelmed. We feel the job is too big for us and we are too small. That’s a far better perspective than thinking that we are too big, and the job is too small.
Travis Agnew says it so beautifully: “Are you overwhelmed by the task at hand? Good. It would be a shame to waste your life on small goals. Are you unimpressed by your personal abilities? Fantastic. It would be rather pathetic to accomplish things for which you would get the credit. Would you rather be a part of something so big that only God could receive the glory? That means you are on track to being a real leader – one who knows that he or she doesn’t have all the answers and needs help from the only one who can give it. So have you asked God to work despite your weaknesses for accomplishments beyond your imagination?”
To fulfil a vision in God we need God’s help!
When God gives you a vision, He will give You the desire to work towards that goal no matter how many setbacks occur.
Philippians 3:15-16(MSG) So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.
When God gives you a vision, He will open the doors that are outside of your control.
Isaiah 60:11(NLV) Your gates will always be open. They will not be closed day or night, so that men may bring the riches of the nations to you with the kings leading the way.
Remember that God is your source.
2 Corinthians 9:8(NLV) God can give you all you need. He will give you more than enough. You will have everything you need for yourselves. And you will have enough left over to give when there is a need.
Joshua 1:9(NLV) Have I not told you? Be strong and have strength of heart! Do not be afraid or lose faith. For the Lord your God is with you anywhere you go.”
If God has clearly called us to the task, He will see that we carry it through. He will give us the grace and the tools needed to accomplish the assignment.
