Seeking the will of God
Psalm 27:8 (NIV) “My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
How to Seek God’s Will?
Surrender your personal desires to God’s will. – Psalm 37:4 (NLT) “Take delight in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s desires.”
Galatians 1:10 (NLT) “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant”
Meditate on God’s Word – Psalm 119:105 (NLT) says, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
Spend time in prayer – James 1:5-6 (LB) “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him; He will not resent it. But when you ask Him, be sure that you really expect Him to tell you.”
Making big decisions can cause a lot of anxiety and worry, but you can turn to God with all your fears and uncertainties.
Philippians 4:6, NLT Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done”
Hear God’s Voice – The Lord constantly speaks to us and gives us His direction. It’s never the Lord who is not speaking, but it’s us who are not hearing.
John 10:3-5 (The Voice) “The guard who is posted to protect the sheep opens the gate for the shepherd, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When all the sheep have been gathered, he walks on ahead of them; and they follow him because they know his voice. 5 The sheep would not be willing to follow a stranger; they run because they do not know the voice of a stranger.”
God is speaking to you all the time. A.W. Tozer said, “It’s the nature of God to speak”
Jeremiah 33:3(NASB), He says, “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know”
Align your thoughts and intentions with God’s will.
Proverbs 16:3 (AM) “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed”
Isaiah 30:21 (NLT) Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.
