Keep on moving, keep on believing
God rescued the Israelites from Egypt and led them safely through the wilderness. Irrespective of what God had done for them – saving them from the Egyptians, opening the waters for them, feeding them, leading them with fire and a cloud – they did not believe in God.
Psalm 78:41(NKJV) Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel.
How can man limit GOD? It sounds so impossible. How could it be that the people of Israel limited God?
Matthew 13:58(ESV) And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.
Look closely at this verse. Jesus could not do mighty works because of their unbelief. God is almighty and nothing is impossible for our God, but our unbelief will limit God’s powerful work in our lives.
The Passion Translation of Psalm 78:41(TPT) says: Again and again they limited God, preventing him from blessing them. Continually they turned back from him and provoked the Holy One!
Again, look closely at this verse: they limited God, they prevented God from blessing them, they kept TURNING their back on God, and in doing so, wounded God.
It’s never God’s will for you to retreat or turn back. He wants you to trust Him. He wants us to move on.
Exodus 14:14-16(AMPC) The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest. The Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward! Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the Israelites shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
For people of faith, quitting isn’t an option! Going forward is always God’s plan for you.
Everything that God has in store for you is not behind you, but just ahead of you! God wants to use your situation to put His glory on display.
Exodus 14:17-18(MSG) Meanwhile I’ll make sure the Egyptians keep up their stubborn chase – I’ll use Pharaoh and his entire army, his chariots and horsemen, to put my Glory on display so that the Egyptians will realize that I am GOD.
If you’re obedient to go forward, it will cause a chain reaction of miracles and breakthroughs just as it did for Moses and the children of Israel.
Psalm 78:19-20(NIV) shows us their state of mind: They spoke against God; they said, ‘Can God really spread a table in the wilderness? True, he struck the rock, and water gushed out, streams flowed abundantly, but can he also give us bread? Can he supply meat for his people?’
Instead, stay focused on God’s promises, on His miraculous power. They refused to go forward, drew back, did not believe, and died with the promise, in the wilderness.
Hebrews 6:13-18(MSG) When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it all the way, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.
Your best days are ahead. As you go forward taking steps of faith, you’ll see God’s glory manifested, producing miracles, and doing the impossible.
