God has a surprise for you
Luke 1:29-35(MSG) She was thoroughly shaken, wondering what was behind a greeting like that. But the angel assured her, “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus. He will be great, be called ‘Son of the Highest.’ The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David; He will rule Jacob’s house forever— no end, ever, to his kingdom.” Mary said to the angel, “But how? I’ve never slept with a man.” The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, the power of the Highest hover over you; Therefore, the child you bring to birth will be called Holy, Son of God.
The angel of the Lord appeared to Mary; she was frightened. He assured her that she had nothing to fear and then said: God has a surprise for you. Don’t we all like surprises? We all like to receive something that we have not expected; to be spoiled. This is exactly what happened in this passage. Mary is an ordinary young lady. There is not much about her. But all of this is about to change. She will become pregnant and give birth to a son named Jesus. He will be great, be called Son of the Highest. What a surprise this must have been for Mary. From a nobody to the mother of the King of kings, Jesus.
Not only had God a surprise for Mary, but He has a surprise for your today. Psalms 90:14(MSG) Surprise us with love at daybreak; then we’ll skip and dance all the day long.
Mark 7:37(AMP) They were thoroughly astounded and completely overwhelmed, saying, “He has done everything well! He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
What a great joy to let you know that we are in the season of divine surprises, where God is set to do the impossible.
Exodus 34:10(MSG) And GOD said, “As of right now, I’m making a covenant with you: In full sight of your people I will work wonders that have never been created in all the Earth, in any nation. Then all the people with whom you’re living will see how tremendous GOD’s work is, the work I’ll do for you.”
Psalm 77:13-15a(MSG) O God! Your way is holy! No god is great like God! You’re the God who makes things happen; you showed everyone what you can do— You pulled your people out of the worst kind of trouble.
Luke 5:4-10(AMP) When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon [Peter], “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch [of fish].” Simon replied, “Master, we worked hard all night [to the point of exhaustion] and caught nothing [in our nets], but at Your word I will [do as you say and] lower the nets [again].” When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their nets were [at the point of] breaking; so they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats [with fish], so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” For he and all his companions were completely astounded at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon [Peter]. Jesus said to Simon, “Have no fear; from now on you will be catching men!”
God wants to surprise you with His goodness and favour. You may have seen great miracles in the past, but when you call upon Him again, He will show you great and mighty things which you do not know. I declare in this coming year God will amaze you with new opportunities, healings, and breakthroughs: God will show you things beyond your imagination.
Expect the unexpected and let the Lord surprise you beyond your wildest dreams!
Are you ready for God to surprise you? If you’re open to it, you’ll be amazed at what He can do in your life.
