Is there a circumstance in your life, an event or a loss that is trying to block the light from shining for you? Has a darkness overwhelmed you? Does it feel like your day has turned to night?
The Word declares that night can be as bright as day, that even in the toughest times, we can carry on because there is a light that cannot be extinguished.
Psalm 139: 12b (NIV) “even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You.”
The following song was written by Kristen Gilles: “When we are broken, like a haunted, weary land, and darkness has fallen, then you take us in your hands. Left on our own, we would never find our way, but even the darkness is light to You. Even the darkness is light to You. You bring life from a silent tomb! In the deep, night-time fog, You’re still Almighty God. Even the darkness is light to You. When we are hiding, in the shame of our own sin, then You will find us and claim us once again. Left on our own, we would never find our way, but even the darkness is light to You.
2 Samuel 22:29 (MSG) Suddenly, God, your light floods my path, God drives out the darkness. 31 What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it.”
1 John 1:5 “And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”
As we lean into this unknown time, the most important leaning that we can do is on our unshakeable faith. We can lean on the everlasting arms of God.” Here are a few lines of this song that fit this message well: “What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms. Safe and secure from all alarms; Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day, Safe and secure from all alarms”
I conclude with John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.
Allow the light of God to shine into your life today.
