Luke 12:32(MSG) “What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.
The meaning of reality, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.
In this passage, we see that God wants to give us the very kingdom, but we have to steep ourselves in God-reality, God-initiative and God-provisions. This is a profound statement: Steep in yourself in God-reality God-initiative and God-provisions. Most of the time we are so focused on our reality, our world, and our problems, and it just becomes bigger and bigger. Whatever you feed, grows. So what is the God-reality. You set aside your agendas, wants and will and think about the God-reality. What is God’s reality for your life, for your future and for the kingdom? God does not want you to have a worldly focus, but a kingdom focus. That is what a God-reality is.
Luke 12:29-30(AMPC) And you, do not seek [by meditating and reasoning to inquire into] what you are to eat and what you are to drink; nor be of anxious (troubled) mind [unsettled, excited, worried, and in suspense]; For all the pagan world is [greedily] seeking these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
We are in the world, but not of the world. The God-reality gives us authority over the natural world. God has given us the authority to rule and reign.
