Serve one another!
1 Corinthians 12:7(NLT) A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. In this verse, Paul emphasises that the Holy Spirit has given every Believer a spiritual gift. These gifts are given for the purpose of serving and assisting one another.
Everyone who is a follower of Christ, has received a unique spiritual gift from God. These gifts are not given for personal gratification or self-promotion but are meant to benefit and contribute to the well-being of the entire Body of Believers.
The purpose of these spiritual gifts is to equip and empower individuals to serve others in the community of faith. They are meant to be used for the common good, helping to build up and edify the Body of Christ. The diversity of spiritual gifts within the Church allows for a holistic and comprehensive approach to ministry, as different individuals contribute their unique talents and abilities for the greater good of all.
Romans 12:6-8(NIV) We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
1 Peter 4:10-11(NIV) Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
Through these gifts God has given us, we help one another in various ways:
Ephesians 4:32(NIV) Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Galatians 6:2(NIV) Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfil the law of Christ.
1 Timothy 2:1(NIV) I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people-
1 Peter 4:10(NIV) Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Proverbs 11:25(NIV) A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
1 Thessalonians 5:11(NIV) Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
By serving others, we reflect the character of God and bring glory to Him. Our acts of service demonstrate His love, compassion, and grace to the world, pointing others to Him.
I conclude with Matthew 5:16(NIV) In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
