When we all reach the end of our earthly journey, we are actually just at the beginning. The word departure literally means to pull up anchor and set sail. Everything that happens prior to death is in preparation for the final voyage. Death marks the beginning, not the end. It is our journey to God.
“The soul actually demands as much attention as the body. The soul was made for God, and without God it is restless and in secret torment.” – Billy Graham
All will be confronted with eternity
Psalm 89:48(NKJV) What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave?
James 4:14(NLT) How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog – it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
2 Samuel 12:22-23(NLT) David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.”
Your end on earth can be the beginning of eternity
Philippians 1:21(NLT) For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.
_Psalm 116:15(KJV) Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.-
Your end on earth could be devastating
Luke 16:22-24(NLT) Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the heavenly banquet. The rich man also died and was buried, and he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, “Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.”
Mark 9:43(NLT) If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand than to go into the unquenchable fires of hell with two hands.”
Jesus is the only door to eternity.
John 14:6(NLT) Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
