Good day
Mark 4:38 (AMP) “But Jesus was in the stern, asleep [with His head] on the [sailor’s leather] cushion. “And they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are about to die?”
Jesus was in the boat with his disciples. He was always there. He was asleep, but the Bible says that God doesn’t slumber nor sleep. Do we really think that Jesus didn’t know what was happening as He dozed in the back of the boat? Of course not. He knows everything. And He is always there. We may feel that He is absent or sleeping, but He is not.
David, at times also felt that God was far and had forsaken him as seen in Psalm 22.
Psalm 22:1-2 “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief.”
There is however a difference between what we feel and what we know. Although we sometimes feel like we are forsaken, we know that God will never forsake us.
Psalm 121:3-4 (MSG) “He won’t let you stumble, your Guardian God won’t fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel’s Guardian will never doze or sleep.” 5 The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. 6 The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. 7 The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. 8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”
When you feel forsaken or trapped just call upon the name of the Lord, He is always there for you.
Nehemiah 9:9 (VOICE) “When our ancestors suffered in Egypt, You saw their misery. When they were trapped at the edge of the Red Sea, You heard their cries for help.”
Psalm 50:15 Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me”
Jeremiah 33:3 (AMP) ‘Call to Me and I will answer you”
Isaiah 43.2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
