22 September Psalm 145

The Lord is near to all who call on him

The Lord is near to all who call on Him, as Psalm 145:18-20(NIV) beautifully articulates: The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

When we reach out to God, He is immediately near. Drawing close to Him prompts Him to draw near to us, affirming that God is close to us when we call upon Him in truth.

James 4:8a(NLT) echoes this sentiment: Come close to God, and God will come close to you.

Similarly, Hebrews 13:5b(NLT) reassures us: For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

Moreover, Matthew 28:20b(NLT) promises: And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Psalms 50:15(ESV) encourages us: and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”

Psalm 91:14-15(NLT) further assures us of God’s protection and presence: The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

Even for those who have yet to call upon the Lord, He remains open and willing to hear them. God desires to be discovered and known, as expressed in Isaiah 65:1(ESV) I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name.

In conclusion, when we earnestly seek God with all our hearts and draw near to Him, we will inevitably feel His presence anew.
