The Bible says in Gen. 22:9-14(extracts from ESV) Abraham built an altar and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven. “Abraham! Abraham! Here I am, he replied; do not lay a hand on the boy, he said. Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord will provide.
Hebrews 11:17-19(ESV) By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, ‘Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.’ He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.
God the provider, provided a ram. He saved the promised son from being a sacrifice. He preserved His promise to make Isaac a great nation. He acted faithfully in response to Abraham’s faith in His provision.
It is so wonderful to know that God is your source for everything you need, and He cares about everything you care about. There is no need so small that He does not know about it, and nothing too big that He can’t provide for you.
The Lord will provide, more directly translation means: The Lord will see to it. Think about that attribute of God. He is seeing to it, meaning He sees you. He sees what is going on in your life. He knows what you need. And wherever He sees, He is acting. God is active in your life. At its very core, this means to provide what is needed; to give sustenance or support. Our God will provide. He will see to it. What is the ‘it’ you need? Ask God for it. How much you ask God for, shows how much you believe He can provide.
There is a beautiful song by Don Moen – God will make a way: “God will make a way when there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. He will make a way for me. He will be my guide, hold me closely to my side. With love and strength for each new day. He will make a way for me; He will make a way.”
No matter what problem or difficulty you face, the Lord has a way when there seems to be absolutely no solution in sight. God always provides a solution to any problem you may face.
I conclude with truth: The Lord will provide.
