Tell your story
Acts 21:17-20(MSG) In Jerusalem, our friends, glad to see us, received us with open arms. The first thing next morning, we took Paul to see James. All the church leaders were there. After a time of greeting and small talk, Paul told the story, detail by detail, of what God had done among the non-Jewish people through his ministry. They listened with delight and gave God the glory. They had a story to tell, too: “And just look at what’s been happening here—thousands upon thousands of God-fearing Jews have become believers in Jesus!
While reading this chapter this morning, what stood out for me were these words: They had a story to tell. What was the story they had to tell? Well, Paul started with his story. The Bible says that Paul told the story, detail by detail, of what God had done. Those that were listening to Paul also had a story to tell. Their story was that thousands upon thousands of Jews have become believers in Jesus.
God is good, and I want to share something with you. At the beginning of the year 2023, I spoke about making this year your best year ever. I trusted God for a specific transaction we had been praying for, for years. I wrote this down as one of the pointers that would make this year my best yet. Suddenly, on the 14th of April 2023, this was accomplished. Is this not amazing? It was April and already, it was my best year ever! Just think about how it was going to end.
We serve a great big, wonderful God. I want to encourage each one of you, if you have not yet decided that this year is going to be your best yet, it is not too late, Decide, Proclaim, Frame, Own, and Action it, TODAY.
God has done amazing things for us. When I think of the goodness of God, and what He has done for me, my heart cries out Hallelujah! Thank God for what He has done. We need to celebrate what God has done for us. God wants us to celebrate.
Testimonies of God’s goodness increase our faith.
“Every time God does something for someone else, it’s an invitation for that same thing to happen to you.” -Seth Dahl
You are the most important person to God. There is nobody He loves more than you. Therefore, when He does something for someone else, you can know that He wants to do something just as great for you.
When you tell your story, it puts God on display, and blesses and encourages others! It shows them what God can, and will, do in their lives also.
Anything God did in your life, big or small, is worth telling others about and expressing praise and thanks to God!
Psalm 73:28(NLT) But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.
Psalm 105:1-3(NLT) Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD.
Psalm 22:25(GNT) In the full assembly I will praise you for what you have done; in the presence of those who worship you I will offer the sacrifices I promised.
Psalm 118:17b(NLT) I will live to tell what the LORD has done.
“If you abundantly talk of God’s goodness, you are sure to benefit your neighbours. Many are comforted when they hear of God’s goodness to your friends.” -C.H Spurgeon
Today I want to encourage you to tell your story of what God has done. Use this opportunity to glorify God, and to encourage others that need your story as comfort and strength, that their breakthrough is on its way.
