Courage under pressure

Daniel stood on his conviction to pray to God only, in spite of the consequence of being thrown into a den of lions as punishment. He was motivated to face this fear because he was so grateful to God for all the ways God blessed and protected his life. That gratitude made him extraordinarily confident.

Daniel 6:10 (ESV) “When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.”

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” –Emerson

“The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been.” –Henry Kissinger

Proverbs 24:10 (NLT) “If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.”

Job 4:5 (NLT) “But now when trouble strikes, you lose heart. You are terrified when it touches you.”

Our weakness often becomes an excuse to quit, but strength and courage come as the result of faithfulness under pressure.

Joshua 1:9 (NASB) “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

“Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm.” –Publilius Syrus

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” –Martin Luther King, Jr.

1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”

Have a great day.
