27 August 2022 – Do you want to feel better? Change the way you think

A lot of time we want to change our feelings. We cannot force our feelings, they are uncontrollable. You can control your thoughts, and your thoughts determine your feelings. If you are feeling fearful you are thinking fearful thoughts. You cannot change the feeling, but you can change the thought. If you don’t want to be fearful, then change the thought.

Ps. 42:6 (TEV) David: “My heart is breaking, so I turn my thoughts to God.”

David’s hart is breaking, so he turns his thoughts to God. That is a choice.

Jonah 2:7 (LB) “When I’d lost all hope, I TURNED my thoughts once more to the Lord.”

When you feel hopeless, choose to think about the one thing you know will lift your spirit: The goodness of God.

Psalm 27:13(GNT) “I know that I will live to see the Lord’s goodness in this present life”

Acts 3:19 (GWT) “So change the way you think and act, and turn [to God]”

2 Timothy 1:7 in the Amplified Bible says: “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”

Purpose in your heart to only receive the right kind of thoughts.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMP CE) [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ”

1 Chronicles 28:9 “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

God’s desire is for the right kind of thoughts to be in your mind. Right thoughts allow God to manifest good things in your life.

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”

When problems arise, don’t focus on the problem, focus on the God of the solution.
