27 August Psalm 119

Keep your way pure

Psalm 119:9(AMP) How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts].

Charles Spurgeon said: “Young man, the Bible must be your chart, and you must exercise great watchfulness that your way may be according to its directions. You must take heed to your daily life as well as study your Bible, and you must study your Bible that you may take heed to your daily life. With the greatest care, a man will go astray if his map misleads him; but with the most accurate map, he will still lose his road if he does not take heed to it.”

Proverbs 30:5(AMP) Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.

James 1:22(AMP) But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth].

In verse 9 of Psalm 119, we are invited on a journey—one of exploration, self-discovery, and continual transformation. It’s a journey where the wisdom of Scripture becomes our compass, guiding us through the complexities of life.
