Getting anything done starts with a plan. If you want to achieve anything, you must create a plan when you are clear about your strategy and what you need to be successful. A plan includes setting goals and objectives, establishing responsibilities, setting timelines, and establishing a budget.
Proverbs 21:5 (NLT) Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.
“A good plan is like a road map: it shows the final destination and usually the best way to get there.” – H. Stanely Judd
Don’t wait for perfect conditions – Some people wait for perfect conditions before they do anything. When we wait for perfect conditions, we will never get anything done.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 (TLB) If you wait for perfect conditions you’ll never get anything done.
Proverbs 6:4 (NLT) Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do.
Counting the costs and making wise decisions is a characteristic of successful people and millionaires. One of the successful characteristics of millionaires is that they write down their goals. Keeping it in your head just isn’t good enough. What would you think of a business that doesn’t have written records?
Write down your plans
Habakkuk 2:2-3 (MSG) And then GOD answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time.”
Once you have your plan documented, act on it.
1 Timothy 4:15 (NLT) Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress.
Proverbs 12:27 (MSG) A lazy life is an empty life, but “early to rise” gets the job done.
Proverbs 20:13 (TLB) If you love sleep, you will end in poverty. Stay awake, work hard, and there will be plenty to eat!
Lastly, once you have accomplished what you have set out for you give God the glory.
