27 March 2021 – Because He Lives I can face tomorrow

John 14:19b (ESV) “Because I live, you also will live. (Amen!)”

I want to encourage you this morning with the words of an old song; Because he lives I can face tomorrow, Because he lives All fear is gone Because I know he holds the future My life is worth the living just because he lives.

“Because He Lives” written by Bill and Gloria Gaither. It was during the late sixties that the Gaithers realized that they were expecting another child. Though they were excited as any parents would be, this was also during the time when there was much civil and social unrest in their country. As they looked around at what was happening, they began to ask themselves, “If the world is like this now, what will it be in fifteen or sixteen years for our baby? What will this child face?” As they pondered these questions, they concluded that peace and courage do not lie in the stability of the world, but in the power of the resurrected Saviour. Thus they wrote the great song, “Because He Lives.

Because God is in control, we can replace our worries with God’s peace. Peace is knowing that God is in control.

John 14:27 (ESV) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

Give your worries to God, letting God know what your worries are. I really like this” Before you know a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down.

Know that God is in control.

John 14:19 (NIV) “Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.”

Because He lives we have proof that Christ is the Victor over sin, death and the grave. Because He lives, will also shall live. Because He was raised, we also shall be raised. Our faith rests on the fact of Christ’s resurrection. It is the proof that we too shall be raised.

Colossians 3:3 (NLT) “For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (MSG) “What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.”
