27 October LUKE 12

Delayed reactions

Luke 12:45‭-‬46(NKJV) But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

How easy it is to get distracted, when things don’t happen in the timeframe, we expect it to happen?

The Lord refers here to Believers that become so distracted with the things of this world, whilst waiting for Him to return, that when He comes, they will not even know it is Him.

The enemy love using distractions as weapons against Believers – and usually the distractions are sin.

It says here, the servants became abusive, violent, gluttonous, and drunk. They became so distracted in their perversions that when the Master returned, they were unprepared.

I can just picture this: someone, after a night of partying and getting drunk, are so hungover the next day, they miss the most important meeting of their life… after this they lose their job and everything just go from bad to worse. On top of all this, they start blaming God for all their mishaps, instead of repenting from their wicked ways.

Don’t be deceived dear friends, there is an enemy who is constantly trying to distract you from how you are to walk with God. This foul devil will even try and convince you that some sins are okay as long as it’s done in moderation, or only every now and again… Not so!

We are to be stewards of the Kingdom of our heavenly Father and diligent, trustworthy disciples of His Son, Jesus Christ; walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, in truth and in the Word given to us by His inspiration.

2 Timothy 3:16(NKJV) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

Wake up! Stand up! Don’t delay! Repent! For the Kingdom of God is at hand!
