28 May 2022 – The power of the Holy Spirit

The power of the Holy Spirit, operating in our life, serves to provide us with the strength. This is most clearly illustrated in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (EHV) “And he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, because my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will be glad to boast all the more in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may shelter me.”

God’s power works, not only through us, but also in us. Ephesians 3:16 (ESV) “that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being”

Another aspect of the power of the Spirit working in us is hope. Romans 15:13 (NKJV) “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Acts 1:8 (NKJV) “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be My witnesses.”

Acts 4:31 (NKJV) “And when they had prayed, the place where they were praying was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”

The Holy Spirit is God in us. We cannot live as children of God apart from his presence and working.

Ephesians 3:16-21 (NCV) “I ask the Father in His great glory to give you the power to be strong inwardly through His Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built on love. And I pray that you and all of God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God. With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever. Amen”

“The plan of God for your life is that you should be held captive by His power, doing that which you in the natural world would never do, but that which you are forced to do by the power of the Holy Ghost moving through you.” – Smith Wigglesworth
