Isaiah 48:17 (NASB) “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.”
I Corinthians 10:11 (NLT) “These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.”
In Joshua 1 is one of the passages that God teaches us to prosper.
Joshua 1:1 (NLT) “After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them”
There is not much that we can do about the past, but we can influence the future. The past is dead. To prosper you must focus on the future. Moses was called to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, out of slavery. That is exactly what Moses did. For Joshua to take hold of the future they had to leave the slavery mentality behind. To prosper we must look forward. The time has come to move forward, out of the wilderness into the promised land.
God has already given it to us, we must just take hold of it. Joshua 1:3 (NLT) “I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you”
God promises each of us success in the sphere of influence we’ve been called to walk in. He wants you to have influence and take dominion wherever you are.
2 Peter 1:3 (NLT) “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.”
God promised us total victory to profit. He gives us promises and assurances for success.
Joshua 1:5-6 (NLT) “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. 6 “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.
God promised us he’d be with us every step of the way. Joshua 1:9 (NLT) “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
To prosper, fear must go. Psalm 34:4 (AMP) “I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His Word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
To prosper follow God’s way. Joshua 1:7-8 (NLT) “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
God Will Take Care of the Opposition if We Trust Him –
Joshua 1:5 (NLT) “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.
Psalm 34:7 (MSG) “God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray.”
