Our Blessing through Christ
Genesis 12:3 (NLT) “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
In Galatians 3:13 -14, Paul specifically explains what blessed in Genesis 12:3 means:
Galatians 3:13-14 (ESV) “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:14 (NTRV)“In the gospel we have received not only the blessing of forgiveness, washing, and cleansing; even more, we have received the greatest blessing, which is the Triune God—the Father, Son, and Spirit—as the processed, all-inclusive life-giving Spirit dwelling in us in a most subjective way for our enjoyment. Oh, what a blessing that we can enjoy such an all-inclusive One as our daily portion!”
God Himself processed in His Trinity through incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and descension that we may receive Him as our life and our everything. This is the focus of the gospel of God. Jesus is the greatest blessing we can ever receive.
Ephesians 1:3 (NLT) “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
In Ephesians 1:3-14, Paul wrote a list of all the blessings we have. What are those blessings? He chose us in Christ (v.4), to be holy and blameless (v.4), he predestined us for adoption (v.5), we have the blessings of his grace (v.6), we have redemption in Christ (v.7), we have forgiveness of sins (v.7), he’s revealed to us the mystery of Christ (v.9), we have an inheritance (v.11), we are the praise of his glory (v.12) and we have the gift of the Holy Spirit (v.13).
John 1:16 GNT “Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another”.
God’s blessings have always been with us. We read repeatedly throughout the Bible of God’s promises of provision, safety and protection, guidance, strength, wisdom, victory over every circumstance, courage, kindness, compassion, patience, faithfulness, peace, joy, unconditional grace and much more!
Have a blessed day.
