People who trust are joyful
People who trust are way happier than those who don’t.
“Trust is a prerequisite for happiness. Several studies, in fact, have found that trust, more than income or even health is the biggest factor in determining our happiness.”
“We’re never so vulnerable as when we trust someone but, paradoxically, if we cannot trust neither can we find love or joy.” – Walter Anderson
The heading of Psalm 34 is Those Who Trust in God Are Happy . Psalm 34:8 (NLT) “O taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who trusts in Him!”
Psalm 40:4 (GNTA) “Happy are those who trust the Lord”
Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NLT) “This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. 6 They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. 7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. 8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
When it comes to where we will place our trust, there are basically only two choices: man or God. This choice is a critical one, because one is a curse (sadness), and the other is a blessing (joyful).
Psalms 84:12 (AMP) “O Lord of hosts, blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts in You [leaning and believing on You, committing all and confidently looking to You, and that without fear or misgiving]!”
Psalm 5:11-12 (NKJV) But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favour You will surround him as with a shield. (Amen)
Psalm 40:3-4 (ESV) “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!”
