1 Samuel 17:36 (NLT) “I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God!”
David cultivated a positive attitude by declaring victory even before he engaged in the battle. His confidence came from his understanding of the God that he served. This God that gave him victory over the lion and the bear would give him victory over the uncircumcised Philistine.
Hebrews 12:12-13 (NLT) “So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. 13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.”
Breakthroughs are not something you sit around and wait for. It’s an offensive strike through enemy lines. A breakthrough is when you take an offensive step and say, “I’m going to act on what I believe is true, and then, I’m going to trust God is supernaturally going to do the impossible.”
A Breakthrough is an act or instance of breaking through a barrier.
Micah 2:13 (NLT) “Your leader will break out and lead you out of exile, out through the gates of the enemy cities, back to your own land. Your king will lead you; the Lord himself will guide you.”
It’s a sudden advance.
One of the best ways to get ready for your breakthrough is to follow the example of Paul and Silas after they were beaten and thrown into a jail in Philippi in Acts 16:22-34. Instead of grumbling and complaining, they prayed and passionately worshiped the Lord. The Bible says it was a “midnight” hour for these heroes of the faith, but everything was about to change for them:
Acts 16:26 (NLT) “Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”
When Paul and Silas prayed…gave thanks…and sang God’s praises, the Lord suddenly responded with an earthquake that totally transformed their circumstances!
Our God is the God of the breakthrough. There is nothing that can stop Him. We must invite Him to participate in our problems and situation. Start to know Him as the breakthrough God, who will tear your problem to shreds.
Regardless of your circumstances today, know that God cares, and He stands ready to help. He wants to impact every area of your life. TODAY can be one of your appointed times for a breakthrough. You may have been waiting a long time for some prayer to be answered, but this can be the day things begin to turn around for you.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT) “For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you. ”Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.”
