To have Revival we must put God First
The key to having God’s “abundant life”—His love, peace and joy—is keeping Him in His rightful place in our priorities. God said to Abraham, Genesis 17:1 (AMP). …Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]
According to Webster’s Dictionary, prioritise means “to organise (things) so that the most important thing is done or dealt with first.” The root word, “prior,” suggests that we give something “precedence in right or rank”. “First” also may imply “superior” and “better.” This is how we must arrange our time with God, making sure that we give Him the best.
Philippians 2:21 (NKJV) “For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.”
Christ calls us to seek Him and His kingdom first.
“When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities.” Ezra Taft Benson
Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Proverbs 3:6 (LB) “In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.”
When we value Christ, we’ll not only seek Him, but we’ll make His passion our passion and His mission our mission.
1 Thessalonians 2:4 (NKJV) “But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.”
The world’s normal order of operations is usually geared toward pursuing money, food, clothing, housing, education, and several other things deemed important; God comes in last. God knows we need all those things, and there’s nothing wrong with having them. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to prioritise.
Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV) “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 (AMP) “Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honour, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], 16 making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is.”
Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC) “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed”
