4 June 2022 – The Lord lights up my darkness

2 Samuel 22:29-31(NLT) “O Lord, you are my lamp. The Lord lights up my darkness. 30 In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. 31 “God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.

Psalms 18:28 NKJV “’ For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

God is a God of light. The Bible start off with the creator of light. Genesis 1 describes how God enlightening, ordering, filling, and enlivening his creation. God said in Genesis 1:3 (NIV)“Let there be light,” and there was light”

God himself it the source of light. Revelation 22:5(NLT) “And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.”

John teaches us that God is light. 1 John 1:5 (NIV) “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”

Jesus teaches that He is the Light of the World. John 8:12 (NLT) “I am the light of the world.”

We can all rejoice that God is the God of light and that his Son Jesus is the Light of the World. John 1:4-5 (NIV) “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome”

Never allow yourself to be overcome by the circumstances of life. If God is your source of light, there is light at the end of every tunnel. Depend on God, the source of your life. You have been called out of darkness, into the marvellous light.

Isaiah 60:1-2(NKJV) “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.”

God is light, the creator of light and the only source of light and energy to the world, to us, as Paul explained in Acts 17:28 (NLT) “For in him we live and move and exist.”

The results of God’s light in our life is that is shines brighter and brighter until it reaches its full strength and glory. Proverbs 4:18 (AMP) “But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day.”
