Joel 2:25 (NLT) The LORD says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.”
Restoration is the act of returning something to its former condition. Making something new again. Restoring can also make things better. You may have been through some trouble, but God is the One who brings restoration.
Isaiah 61:7 (AMP) Instead of your [former] shame you will have a double portion; And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited]; Everlasting joy will be theirs.
Money can be restored, property can be restored, broken-down cars, stripped and old houses, relationships can be restored. But one thing that can never be restored, is time. Time flies, and it does not return. Years pass, and we never get them back. Yet God promises the impossible: Joel 2:25 (NKJV) So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
The meaning of this promise is clear. God’s people had suffered the destruction of their entire harvest through swarms of locusts that marched like an insect army through the fields, destroying the crops, and multiplying their number.
In the coming years, God said, their fields would yield an abundance that would make up for what had been lost; Joel 2:26 (NKJV) You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.
Zechariah 10:6 (NLT) “I will strengthen Judah and save Israel; I will restore them because of my compassion. It will be as though I had never rejected them, for I am the LORD their God, who will hear their cries.”
Proverbs 6:31 (KJV) “But if he [the thief] be found, he shall restore sevenfold.”
Everything is possible with God, Luke 1:37 (NKJV) For with God nothing will be impossible.
If you can believe God, all things are possible to you. Mark 9:23 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” God can restore what you have lost. Just believe His word, serve Him wholeheartedly and expect Him to do what He said.
No matter how long it takes, hold on till your change comes, for it will surely come.
