Good day

The True God

In I Kings 18, we see a great spiritual victory won on Mt. Carmel. It was on Mt. Carmel where Elijah proves to people that God is the one true god.

The Bible describes God as eternal, all-powerful, infinite in understanding, perfectly holy like no other, the only God, incapable of lying, creator of the whole universe, and saviour.

Psalm 19:1 (ESV) “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”

Job 12:7–10 (ESV) “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; 8 or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. 9 Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?”

1 Kings 18:39 (NET) “When all the people saw this, they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said, “The Lord is the true God! The Lord is the true God!”

Isaiah 45:18 ESV “For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it empty, he formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the Lord, and there is no other.

Psalm 14:1 (ESV) “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

Romans 1:20 (LB) “Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse when they stand before God at Judgment Day.”

The very first verse in the Bible declares: “In the beginning God . . . .” There is no attempt in these words to prove the existence of God or imply in any way that God had a beginning. In fact, the Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end. He also knows all things, being infinitely intelligent.

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”, and Colossians 1:16 “For by him [Jesus Christ] all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through him and for him”

For those who know God, it is impossible to deny His existence, we see Him at work in every part of our lives, we have a relationship and friendship with God and realise that we are completely dependent upon Him because every breath we breathe comes from Him.
