6 May 2023 – Show Up

We all go through difficult times; life is not always easy. Life comes with its own challenges that we must face on a daily basis. Some days we are on top of the world; other days we feel that we are not worthy, feel incompetent and that everything has just become too much. It does not matter how we feel, we must just show up. Well, it is not a bad thing. There is power in just showing up. It is in showing up that we display that we have hope, and faith and that we will get through the storm. The biggest mistake in difficult times is to not show up and run away from our problems. The best medicine for our problems and issues is to face them. Show up.

The truth of the matter is that if we show up, God will also show up. God is waiting for us to show up.

James 4:8 (NKJV) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Jeremiah 29:12-14 (NKJV) Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

1 Timothy 6:15 (MSG) He’ll show up right on time, his arrival guaranteed by the Blessed and Undisputed Ruler, High King, High God.

James 1:2-4 (NLT) Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

I conclude with: “A man shows up. For himself and others. He doesn’t run, he doesn’t pass the buck, he shows up. And when he is hurt, or when he has done wrong or has made his own mistake — a man shows up. For himself and others.” ― Drue Grit
