To have Revival our Worship needs to invite God’s Presence
“Worship is our response to God’s revelation of who He is and what He has done. Worship is our destiny throughout all eternity. … [God] wants to hear your voice of praise and adoration more than you could ever imagine.” – Harland and Moser
1 Chronicles 16:23-25 (NLT) “Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. 24 Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. 25 Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.”
Revival and reformation don’t begin with groups, but with individuals. Scripture reveals again and again that a leader begins by making a personal commitment, issuing a call, inviting individuals to follow. Then as more take up the refrain, it swells into a movement.
Ephesians 5:19-20 (NLT) “singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
When our praise goes up, God sends the rain down. It is by our expression of worship that we usher in God’s presence. It’s our praise that invites the Holy Spirit. It’s when we lift our voices, lift our hands, bow our knees … it’s when we worship that God opens up the heavens and sends His rain.
Zechariah 14:17 (ESV) “And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them.”
Psalm 22:3 (ESV) Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
Wherever we worship, we become a habitation for His presence. God comes to dwell where we worship, and where that happens, all the weight of His glory, His rulership, and His dominion are present.
Psalm 50:14 (NKJV) “Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High.”
Thanksgiving is the origin point for all worship. Without thanksgiving, your heart will not connect with the Lord in worship because worship is, first and foremost, a heart condition.
A heart that is filled with thanks for what the Lord has done is ready to enter His presence because praise is what paves the way into His courts.
Psalm 100:4 (NKJV) “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.
Psalm 16:11 (ESV) “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
To worship is to feed the mind with the truth of God.
