Come boldly and confidently to God
Ephesians 3:12(NLT) Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.
Because of Christ we can now come boldly come to God—not on our own merits, bringing our own sacrifice—but on His merit and His sacrifice. Now that He has made it possible for us to come to God, we come to Him by faith.
Hebrews 11:6(NLT) And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
The words because of Christ tell us that our confidence is not based on ourselves, but on our relationship with Jesus Christ.
As a child of God, you can approach God’s throne room in prayer with boldness and confidence. The word ‘boldness’ literally means ‘speech’ or ‘freedom to say all’.
This boldness then surely includes several aspects:
Boldness to call on Jesus for salvation.
Boldness to make our prayers known to God through Him, not fearing that they will be hindered or obstructed in any way.
Boldness to speak of the marvellous riches of Christ to others.
Boldness to proclaim our salvation, understanding that is an accomplished fact.
The word ‘confidence’ refers to being persuaded that God is someone we can fully trust and rely upon.
Hebrews 4:16(ESV) Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
We are reminded of the privilege we have, through our faith in Jesus Christ. It encourages us to approach God’s presence with confidence, knowing that we are accepted and loved, because of the work of Christ on our behalf.
