7 July Psalm 68

Arise, O God

Psalm 68:1(TLB) Arise, O God, and scatter all your enemies! Chase them away!

Psalm 68:1(NKJV) Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered;

The very words of this verse, in fact, were quoted by Moses when the ark went forward in Israel. Numbers 10:35(NKJV) So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: “Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You.”

The Bible says God’s enemies melt like wax in His presence. Psalm 68:2(NKJV) As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Our God never slumbers. His army is poised and ready, always protecting.

Psalm 78:65-66(VOICE) Then the Lord awoke like a man who has been asleep, like a warrior who has been overcome with wine. He forced all His enemies back; He defeated them, weighing them down with everlasting disgrace.

The phrase ‘Let God arise, and his enemies be scattered’ reminds us that even in our darkest moments, there is divine intervention and strength available to us.

Isaiah 42:13(NKJV) The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.

Our strength should always be anchored in God’s power. Psalm 68:28(NLT) Summon your might, O God. Display your power, O God, as you have in the past.

When we ask for God to arise, we acknowledge His authority over all situations. It is a recognition that He has the power to intervene and bring about change. The earth trembles at His presence, and armies crumble before His might.

Ask God to arise on your behalf today.
