Our victory is in the Lord. When Goliath boasted against David, David didn’t answer him in his own strength or might. He answered Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:45 (TLB) “You come to me with a sword and a spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of the armies of heaven and of Israel—the very God whom you have defied.

David boasted in the Lord. He said, “ I don’t come in my own strength, but I come to you in the Name of the Lord of the armies.” David knew that His God was more than enough to see him through and give him victory. He confirmed it, “The battle is the Lord’s”

1 Samuel 17:47 – And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.

God is a warrior. He is a Fighter, and we are in His army. We often fail to acknowledge that the Lord is the Lord of the armies. David trusted in God’s ability to fight his enemies and win his battles for him.

Anchor your trust in the Lord of the armies. Depend upon Him. He is the Lord of the battles. He is the Lord of victories. Call on Him by His Name and ask Him to do what He can do.

Psalm 24:10: (ESV) “Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory!”

Psalm 46:6 (NLT)” The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! 7 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.

Jeremiah 50:34 “Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land.”

The Bible encourages us, Romans 8:31 (NLT) “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Our confidence should be that with God, nothing is impossible and that we can overcome whatever the enemy tries to bring our way.

No matter what you face, know that you are not alone. God is fighting for you. You can win with the Lord on your side.

When King Jehoshaphat was about to face a serious battle that he wasn’t sure if he would win, he called on the Lord saying in, 2 Chronicles 20:12 (NLT)” O our God, won’t you stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.”

This is what the Lord said: 2 Chronicles 20:15b (NLT) “Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

The key here is that he called on the LORD for help. And when we follow this example, we can encounter a mighty move of God in our lives as well.

Today, overcome your battles with the Lord.
