Isaiah 11:2 ”And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom”
The Spirit of wisdom is the one who brings you the wisdom of God.
Ephesians 1:17 (NIV) “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”
Wisdom is a force. It’s the divine insight into the plans and purposes of God. It’s understanding spiritual realities. The wisdom of God has the power to cause you to say what you should say, do what you should do and think what you should think. It makes you go where you should go.
Proverbs 8:12 (RSV) “I, wisdom, dwell in prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion”
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NLT) “God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.”
James 1:5-6 (NKJV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”
True Wisdom Comes from God
James 3:13-18 (NLT) “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honourable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favouritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
