Psalm 42:6(MSG) When my soul is in the dumps, I rehearse everything I know of you.
1 Samuel 30:6(MEV) David was greatly distressed, for the people talked of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit, each over his sons and daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
What do you do when your soul is down in the dumps? Do you rehearse everything you know about God?
Here are a few reminders of what I know and need to rehearse:
God is in control and is on my side
God loves those I love even more than I do
God will never leave me, even for a moment
God walks ahead of me into the trials of my day
God knows me and loves me passionately
God wants the very best for me
All things work together for good for those who love God
I will spend a joyful eternity with God
Philippians 4:19(ESV) And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 27:13(AMPC) [What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!
The Berean Study Bible says in Psalm 27:13 Still I am certain I will see the goodness of the Lord…
I know that sometimes things can seem hopeless. Sometimes it’s easy to think about quitting. In those moments, you just have to talk yourself into winning! No matter what you’re facing or how impossible the situation may seem, be assured that if you stay focused, you will see the goodness of God!
