During a business discussion, someone said let’s make this year the best year ever. Listening to this, I thought to myself, yes, I have heard this before, “Let’s make this the best ever”. This is just another cliché. Let’s get real, these are difficult times. People are struggling, and the world is in the mess; now we are talking about making this year the best year ever. Come on, be real, the best in these current world events? Well, I left it there.
The next morning, I got up early, at four o clock, as I do daily to seek the guidance of the Lord for the day. Immediately the Lord spoke to me. “Is this your take on it? Do you doubt whether this year could be your best year ever? Don’t you know the God of the universe? Don’t you know the God that created the world and all that is in it? Don’t you know that nothing is impossible for me? Don’t you know that I am the God that takes care of you? Don’t you know that I am the God that can make this year the best year ever?
Immediately I repented, and clearly, the Lord spoke to me. I instantly dotted down the following: Decide it; Claim it; Own it; and Action it. At that moment, I realised that the biggest barrier to making this year the best ever was not the economic situation, nor the ruling government, or my current situation, but me, I was my own biggest obstacle.
I urge you, though it is the second quarter of this year, don’t let it stand in your way. There is still time to make this one the best ever!
God’s best performance is always in the worst situations. He is a subject matter expert in these circumstances. The first step in allowing God’s best for you, is for you to make that decision – decide it.
The meaning of decide according to the Oxford Dictionary is – “Come or bring to a resolution in the mind as a result of consideration”. It also means, resolve, determine, make up one’s mind, make a decision, come to a decision, reach a decision, come to a conclusion, reach a conclusion, settle on a plan of action, elect, choose, aim, and commit oneself. Have the intention, have in mind, set one’s sights, on opt for, select, pick, pick out, go for, settle on, and single out.
How powerful is this! We must make up our minds. You see, we have a choice, this could just be another ordinary year, or this could be an extraordinary year, it could be the best ever, so far. Make up your mind. What is it going to be?
The Bible declares in Job 22:27-28 (AMP) You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, And you will pay your vows. You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways. And verse 28 (MSG) reads: You’ll decide what you want and it will happen; your life will be bathed in light.
Today, decide that this year will be your best year ever.
